MET: Orange level warning of heavy rain issued

SHAH ALAM, DEC 26: The Malaysia Meterological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued an orange level warning of heavy rain in the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia.
MetMalaysia said in a statement that medium heavy rain which is intermittently experienced in Pahang (Maran, Bera, Rompin, Pekan, Kuantan and Jerantut Districts) and Terengganu is expected to last until Wednesday, December 28.

Meanwhile, yellow level warning of heavy rain is expected in Kelantan beginning Wednesday, December 28.
Heavy rain is expected in Johor and Sarawak (Kuching, Samarahan, Serian, Sri Aman, Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah and Bintulu) starting from Wednesday, December 28 until Friday, December 30.
MetMalaysia, via a website update at 6.15 am on December 26, reported that hurricane Nock-Ten was observed at 5 am, located at 13.4 North latitude and 122.0 East longitude, approximately 179km southeast of Manila, Philippines.
Hurricane Nock-Ten was moving west at a speed of 20 kilometre per hour (km/hr).
This occurrence can cause strong winds of 40 to 50 km/hr and waves reaching up to 3.5 metres along the South China Sea.
