EC allegedly misregistered voters’ registration area

PETALING JAYA, FEB 10: The Election Commission (EC) is charged with failing to register voters in the supposed state and Parliamentary constituencies, said Kuantan Member of Parliament, Fuziah Salleh.
She said she was aware of the matter after examining and checking the status of several constituents that caused confusion.
“I investigated the voter status of a man who is also a friend mine after he moved to Kuantan where if you take the proper placement of the vote, he should vote in Teruntum state constituency also the Kuantan Parliamentary constituency.
“However, when I surfed the EC website, I found my friend is registered to Berserah state constituency and Indera Mahkota Parliamentary constituency,” she said in the press conference at the BERSIH Head Quarters, here, yesterday.
At the same time, Fuziah claimed that she was also investigating the status of some other voters’ voting area and found a number of them also suffered from the same problem.
“I also tried to make an appointment with an EC official, but they refused to entertain me up to today,” she said.
