KUIS & KITTIS signed MOU to strengthen cooperation

BANDAR SERI PUTRA, MAY 2: The Kolej Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Selangor (KUIS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Kolej Integrasi Tahfiz Tunas Islam Selangor (KITTIS) to collaborate in strengthening Islamic education in Selangor.
KUIS Rector, Prof Dato’ Ab Halim Tamuri expressed his appreciation towards KITTIS for wanting to collaborate in this effort which will certainly benefit the students.
“Both parties will form an academic collaboration network in strengthening Islamic education in Selangor,” he said.
The MoU ceremony took place during the Yayasan Pendidikan Islam Selangor (YAPIS)-KUIS Certificate in Teaching for Short-Term Course Student Convocation, held recently, participated by 24 KITTIS and Sekolah Agama Rakyat (SAR) teachers, supervised by YAPIS with cooperation from KUIS Education Faculty.
In the same ceremony, KUIS and YAPIS also signed another two memorandums for cooperation in short-term teacher’s trainings and module development.
Ab Halim said that upon joint discussions, KITTIS and YAPIS have agreed to expand and vary their cooperation in various programmes.
“These consist of mobility, student development, seminar and convension organising, journal publication and research programmes that bring positive impact to both parties,” he said.
Also present were Islamic Religious Affairs, Malay Customs & Heritage, Rural & Traditional Villages Development Exco, Dato’ Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi; YAPIS Board of Directors’ Chairman, Dr Halimah Ali; Majlis Permuafakatan Pendidikan Islam Selangor (MAPPIS) and KITTIS Chairman, Prof Zainal Abidin Kidam; YAPIS Board Member, Noor Hanim Ismail, KUIS Academic and Research Deputy Director, Dr Mokmin Basri and other guests.
