Take action on premises that fail to show permit

BY SYAZWANI SUFIAN
SUBANG, JUL 26: The Subang Jaya Municipal Council (MPSJ) has taken enforcement action on premise owner who failed to show temporary permit to construct additional building.
Acting MPSJ Yang Dipertua, Mohd Zulkarnain Che Ali said, he has taken enforcement action on the owner starting last July 18.
“The action is taken by MPSJ by demolishing the additional building with the cost born by the premise owner.
“Besides that, a RM12,500 fine will also be imposed on the owner according to Section 70(11), 1974 Road, Drain & Building Act.
Zulkarnain said, MPSJ has embarked on the Industrial Building Temporary Additional Structure without MPSJ’s Approval Whitening Programme for owners to get temporary permit.
He said, the programme is carried out as they found many industrial buildings with temporary additional structures with no permit from MPSJ Building Department.
“As an incentive to encourage owners to produce a plan, we agree to withdraw the fine for structural mistakes done before getting the approval, and only charging them a RM500 ‘flat rate’ fine.
“Nevertheless, only 45 percent of these premise owners who applied for temporary permit,” he said.
