On 23 November 2018, Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari revealed a state budget of RM2.56 billion based on six main thrusts of infrastructure, economy, education, social, rural development and health while prioritising physical development.

In presenting his inaugural budget for the state at the State Legislative Assembly, Amirudin stated that the budget was equally divided between operating and development expenditures, with each receiving an allocation of RM1.28 billion.
