Storm Victims Receives RM500 from MB Selangor

TANJUNG KARANG – The State Government announced an immediate relief of RM500 to all victims of the recent storm event in Kampung Sawah Borders and Kampung Tiram Jaya, today.

Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari said the aid would be given within a week to 165 houses.

He said the State Government would also provide home-repair assistance as there were among the villagers’ homes that had experienced severe damage to the point where the existing residence is no longer habitable.

“Hence, the rehabilitation work of these houses will be fully borne by the Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI) while the ones with critical damages will be taken care through the Ministry of Rural Development.

“It is understood that the agency and the service center have also compiled a list of victims’ names and gotong-royong work to repair the houses are also being carried out,” he said when visiting a storm site here today.

Also present were Permatang State Assemblyman, Rozana Zainal Abidin and Kuala Selangor District Council Secretary, Azman Dahlan.

After a briefing session at the Tiram Jaya Hall, Amirudin was also taken to several houses that had been severely damaged and a relief center in Surau Darul Maarif.
