ASIAWATER 2020 postponed to Nov 30

KUCHING, Feb 20 — ASIAWATER 2020, a leading water and wastewater event for developing Asia, originally planned to be held from March 31 to April 2 at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) has been postponed to November 30 to December 2.

The decision was made after consultations with stakeholders following the Covid-19 situation, Informa Markets Asean Regional Director for Business Development, Eliane Van Doorn said today.

“This is a biennial event attracting more than 18,000 visitors from 32 countries, so recent travel restrictions and travel advisories for certain countries had contributed to this decision,” she told a press conference after a site visit to the Batu Kitang Water Treatment Plant here.

ASIAWATER 2020 is expected to host more than 1200 exhibitors from 32 countries and will have 10 major international and regional pavilions.

Earlier, the organiser of the ASIAWATER 2020 also conducted a site visit to Bengoh Dam, as part of a media tour and marketing campaign to raise public awareness on water resources management and water security.
