SHAH ALAM, April 1 — Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari has today unveiled a RM,1000 cash assistance for the people of Selangor who have contracted the Covid-19 virus.
In his announcement on the second phase of the state stimulus package, Selangor Cares Package 2.0, today, Amirudin said the state government is concerned of the people who had tested positive of the coronavirus.
According to the Health Ministry, as of noon today, there is a total of 726 positive Covid-19 cases recorded in Selangor.
The state government had in its second stimulus package revealed several more initiatives for the frontline and health sector as follow:
- RM1.344 million allocated for free meals for the healthcare frontliners and workers during the second phase of the movement control order (MCO), which had begun today until April 14.
- RM1.5 million to care for the children of frontliners, which would benefit 2,500 families.
- RM10,000 to provide free food to the media for their tireless contribution in delivering the news and information to the people.
- Selangor Covid-19 Special Action Council to receive RM50,000 for its active efforts in formulating measures to combat the pandemic.
- RM3 million allocated for the operations of quarantine centres in Selangor to place Person Under Surveillance from the tabligh gathering cluster and those returning home from overseas.
- Mass-testing for Covid-19 in hotspot or red zone areas in Selangor, targetting 5,000 people with a total cost of RM1.35 million.
- Improvements made to the Selangor Skim Peduli Sihat (Health Care Scheme) with an additional RM42.5 million funding that would benefit 85,000 recipients.
- The state government to provide face masks, hand sanitisers, and gloves to the people of Selangor, with RM2 million allocated for the purpose.
- Due to the mental health impact from the MCO, the state government has allocated RM1 million to fund counselling sessions and mental health specialist consultations through interactive classes.
