Selangor Agro Market offers chicken, beef meat below price control scheme

By Nadiah Zamlus

SHAH ALAM, May 21 — The Selangor Agro Market is marking down the prices of chicken and fresh beef meat below the controlled price starting tomorrow until Saturday, in conjunction with the upcoming Hari Raya celebration, says Izham Hashim.

The Selangor Public Amenities, Agricultural Modernisation and Agro-based Industry Committee chairman said chickens will be sold at RM7.20 per kilogram compared to RM7.50, while fresh beef meat will be sold at RM33.50 per kilogram, 50 sen less than the offer under the price control scheme.

“The agro markets that will be offering the sale include those located at the farmer’s market (pasar tani) in Saujana Utama, Section 13 in Shah Alam, SS6 Kelana Jaya, Bandar Baru Bangi community business centre, Fama Operations Centres in Dengkil and Puchong.

“The markets will be operating from 8am to 2pm and customers can only purchase these products via drive-through service,” he told SelangorKini today.

Izham also pointed out that the discounted price offered is to ensure the public has access to fresh products at a reasonable price.

“This is part of the state government’s effort to help the people of Selangor. The public can visit my official Facebook account or the Agro Selangor Facebook page for further information,” he said.
