Malaysia 2020 exports fall 1.4 pct as Covid-19 hit economy — trade ministry

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 30 — The country‘s exports fell 1.4 per cent last year as economic activity slowed due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the international trade and industry ministry said on Saturday.

Meanwhile, imports to Malaysia declined 6.3 per cent, Minister Azmin Ali said in a statement.

Its trade surplus jumped 26.9 per cent to a record RM184.79 billion, Azmin said.
