AMPANG, March 6 — The state government will continue the targeted screening of Covid-19 even though the vaccination is already underway.
Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Amirudin Shari said, however, the organisation of the community programme depends on the needs and current situation.
“We will look at cases and focus on hotspots. This (programme) is to prevent the spread of the pandemic and efforts to curb the spread of the pandemic in the community continues because it is dangerous,” he said when met today.
Earlier, he officiated the Lembah Jaya state constituency (Coordinator) Service Centre.
On January 20, the Selangor Government through the Kita Selangor Package allocated RM6 million to continue the free Covid-19 community screening throughout the state to curb the spread of the pandemic.
Among the locations, it is organised are Section 19, Section 7 and Section 25 Halls in Shah Alam, Pandamaran Jaya Multipurpose Hall in Klang, PJS 6 Community Hall in Petaling Jaya and Sungai Besar Stadium in Sabak Bernam.
The programme is expected to benefit 50,000 people with a focus on target groups such as the elderly, especially in old folks’ care centres and hemodialysis centres throughout the state, including low-income groups (B40) and Selangor students.
