‘Selangor Maju Bersama’ ensures no one left behind

AMPANG, March 7 — The tagline ‘Selangor Maju Bersama’ is a declaration by the state government to ensure that the people in the state would be looked after especially post-Covid-19.

Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the state’s rapid development would have no meaning if many of its people are still suffering and marginalised.

“‘Selangor Maju Bersama’ takes into account the interest of everyone… not merely coming up with ideas while many of the people are still struggling.

“If the public is job hunting or trying to generate income, we would provide the platform. The same goes for those looking for a home, we will help out with it,” he said in a speech during the launch of the Lembah Maju Volunteers in Ampang Avenue, here yesterday.

On January 26, the state administration has launched the Selangor Kerjaya website via www.selangorkerjaya.com.my to tackle the unemployment issues in the short- and long-term.

Amirudin said the Selangor Kerjaya platform offers various information on job vacancies and also allows employers to hire new workers.

The initiative, which is free, is fully supported by the state government involving a total allocation fo RM58 million.

Other initiatives include the online shopping e-Bazar Selangor 11.11 Mega Sales programme, in collaboration with e-commerce platforms Shopee and Lazada, with a total allocation of RM2 million, aimed to help traders in facing the economic crisis following the Covid-19 outbreak.
