AMPANG, March 7 — The Lembah Jaya state constituency People’s Service Centre (PKR) allocated almost RM100,000 to help those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic today.
Its coordinator Daing Muhammad Reduan Bachok said the amount involves contributions to low-income families (B40), suraus, Indian community leaders and the Women Empowerment Centre (Pusat Wanita Berdaya).
“Of that amount, RM60,000 was given to six Village Community Management Council (MPKK). The Ampang Jaya City Youth Association and the Persatuan Muafakat Lembah Jaya also received contributions.
“Even though this state constituency does not have an elected representative, we will ensure that the people’s needs are sufficient and guaranteed,” he said when met yesterday.
Earlier, Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari toured around the Ampang parliamentary constituency to view the community activities and development in the area.
Meanwhile, he said since the implementation of the movement control order in March last year, they had distributed 3,700 food baskets to the affected families.
“The amount involved 2,000 aid for the whole of last year while 1,700 are from January to today.
“A total of 300 emergency food baskets are also kept in the PKR. This is to ensure that individuals who are really affected can be helped immediately,” he said.
