SHAH ALAM, March 27 — The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) has organised the 2021 Shah Alam Photography Competition and is offering RM35,000 worth of cash prizes.

Its Corporate and Public Relations head Shahrin Ahmad said the (ongoing) competition themed ‘We love Shah Alam’, which starts from March 20 to September 1, is open to Malaysian citizens aged 18 and above.

“Five categories will be contested involving buildings or landmarks, nature, lifestyle, council assets and the new norm culture.

“Winners will be evaluated according to a few aspects based on the best theme, original composition, creativity and application of photography techniques aside from requiring the photo to be taken around the areas administered by MBSA,” said Shahrin.

He said the first place for every category will win a cash prize of RM3,000; second prize (RM2,000), third prize (RM1,000) and consolation prize worth RM200 each for five people.

“The competition provides an avenue for the public to showcase their talent in photography as well as appreciation for the Shah Alam city by capturing photographs of interesting places such as tourism locations, buildings, monuments, lakes, gardens or landscapes,” he said.

Those interested can get the participation form by logging on to MBSA’s website at: www.mbsa.gov.my
