SHAH ALAM, May 2 — Traders of two Ramadan bazaars in Selangor ordered to close starting yesterday are encouraged to participate in the state e-kitchen programme to continue generating income.
State executive councillor for local government Ng Sze Han said e-kitchen which is under the state e-commerce platform Selangor Platform (Plats 2.0), enables traders to continue operating despite not having physical stalls.
“Traders can continue conducting their business via online. This is open not only to traders in these two bazaars, all traders are also encouraged to participate in the e-kitchen programme,” he said after launching the Selangor Smart Bus additional route in Kota Raja yesterday.
This year’s e-kitchen programme runs continuously and not only during Ramadan month only, this initiative was introduced in April last year.
Meanwhile, Ng said his team would continue to monitor the standard operating procedures (SOPs) at Ramadan bazaar to ensure that all parties complied with the rules.
“Any bazaar that failed to comply with the ruling will continue to be closed,” he said.
Starting yesterday, the Ramadan bazaar at the Puncak Jalil temporary hawker/Ramadan Bazaar centre, in Subang Jaya and at Cempaka LRT Station, in Ampang Jaya ordered to close to curb Covid-19 infection.
