SERI KEMBANGAN, June 25 — The National Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) is urged to set up a small vaccination centre (PPV) in Puchong to make it easier for residents in the area to get vaccinated.
State executive councillor for public health Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud said many residents living in the surrounding areas, especially senior citizens failed to attend their vaccination appointments because their assigned PPV is too far from their homes.
“We received reports that they did not go because they needed to travel to the mega PPV at Sunway Pyramid, Ideal Convention Centre (IDCC) Shah Alam and the Mines International Exhibition & Convention Centre (MIECC).
“Therefore, we request CITF to hold a small PPV in Puchong to accommodate residents in this densely populated area,” she said after visiting the Covid-19 screening programme organised by the Seri Serdang constituency at Stadium MBSJ Serdang Jaya near here today.
In another development, Dr Siti Mariah who is also Seri Serdang state assemblyman said RM200 cash incentive is offered to Covid-19 positive individuals who successfully completed their mandatory quarantine period of 10 days.
According to her, the incentive is to encourage them to stay at home or the Low-Risk Covid-19 Quarantine and Treatment Centre (PKRC) as well as reduce their financial burden caused by the movement control order (MCO).
“They only need to submit the quarantine release letter at our service centre and cut the pink quarantine bracelet at the health clinic,” she said, adding that about 300 individuals have benefited from this incentive since MCO was first enforced last year.
