Unscheduled water cut, low water pressure in USJ areas to fully recover midnight

By Selangor Journal Team

SHAH ALAM, Nov 20 — An unscheduled water disruption and low water pressure in USJ 1 to USJ 27 is expected to fully recover by midnight tonight, says Pengurusan Air Selangor Sdn Bhd (Air Selangor).

Its corporate communication head Elina Baseri said the water cut was due to a technical problem or an airlock at the main distribution pipe to the Sime UEP reservoir in Kg Kenangan Puchong, which caused the water level in the reservoir to drop.

“Following the incidents, consumers in USJ 1 until USJ 27 are facing water supply disruption and low water pressure.

“Air Selangor is working on the airlock issue and will channel the water supply in stages once the water level in the distribution pond is stabilised,” she said in a statement today, adding that the restoration times of the water supply varies depending on the location.

Elina said Air Selangor has begun mobilising water tankers to areas affected with priority given to critical premises such as hospitals, dialysis centres as well as funeral services. Consumers are also reminded to adhere to the standard operating procedure when collecting water from the water tankers.
