New approval policy helps to ramp up investment process in Selangor — MB

SHAH ALAM, Nov 6 — The implementation of the 100-Days Approval Policy has helped to expedite the investment process in Selangor to around three to four months, said Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari.

Previously the approval process of all applications including land development approvals would take at least six months to be completed.

“Since the state government adopted the policy in February 2020, we have managed to shorten the process, especially the land approval, to be resolved within 60 days.

“Based on the workflow, any potential investor can settle land issues in two months and at the same time proceed to forwarding other required documents, including the permission, building, and infrastructure plans, to the related authorities.

“The policy is also more convenient for investors, as they are given ample time to start up their operations.

“Past instances of the policy in action include speeding up the process of the UMW Toyota construction project and the Ikea Distribution Centre — both in Klang —  within a year,” he said in response to a query from Sungai Panjang assemblyman Datuk Mohd Imran Tamrin during the State Legislative Assembly earlier today.

Amirudin added the state government also decided to reduce the deposit payment rate which investors are required to pay, from 150 per cent this year to 100 per cent in 2022.

“The reduction in deposit payment will enable investors to get their businesses up and running earlier, thus creating more jobs for Selangorians and bringing in more investment into the state,” he added.
