MBPJ offers ‘spring cleaning’ service for Chinese New Year

SHAH ALAM, Jan 16 — The Petaling Jaya City Council is offering a thorough clean-up service to the public who wishes to clear up household items and furniture in conjunction with the coming Chinese New Year festive season next month.

The local council said the spring cleaning programme accepts items such as furniture that are still in good condition, electrical goods, used bicycles, ironware and glass.

“Only the specified items would be accepted on the allocated dates. Broken glasses would not be taken.

“The public is also reminded to wrap, label and organise the items properly to avoid breakage and inform the cleaning contractors beforehand to curb minor accidents,” said MBPJ on Facebook.

The local authority had also reminded the people to bring the items to the designated collection sites before 10am as the contractors will only pass by the area once.

Contact MBPJ Solid Waste Management and Public Cleansing Department for further information at 03-7954 1440.
