SHAH ALAM, March 7 — The 2022 Selangor International Halal Conference (Selhac) business matching session has recorded a transaction value of RM37.73 million.

State executive councillor for halal industry Mohd Zawawi Ahmad Mughni said the value has exceeded the initial target of RM20 million.

“I am surprised when told by the secretariat that the transaction amount or the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) stands at RM37.73 million.

“InsyaAllah (God willing) we will continue to monitor the progress of the transactions,” he said when met during the Selhac closing ceremony at the Shah Alam Convention Centre, here yesterday.

Business matching was among the three components presented in the inaugural conference organised by the state government in cooperation with Halal International Selangor (HIS) and Dewan Perdagangan Islam Malaysia (DPIM) Selangor.

The three-day programme took place from March 4 to 6, which featured forums, expos, and business matchings.

Some 100 exhibitors had participated in the event which ran from 10am to 9.30pm involving six clusters including food and beverage, health, pharmaceuticals, beauty, tourism, as well as fashion and halal ingredients.
