300 flood victims evacuated to eight temporary relief centres

SHAH ALAM, March 7 — A total of eight temporary evacuation centres (PPS) have been opened in the state to accommodate 300 flood victims as of 8.30pm tonight.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said the victims consisted of 56 families.

The PPS are Dewan Camelia Seksyen 10, Sekolah Kebangsaan Puchong Indah, Dewan Batu 3, Dewan Kampung Seri Aman, Dewan Puchong Jaya, Dewan MPS Kampung Melayu Sri Kundang, Dewan PJS 2C/6 and Dewan PJS 1/35.

“Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) has mobilised its Special Action Squad (Pantas) to Kampung Tengah, Kampung Baru Seri Kembangan, Taman Kinrara 1, Taman Kinrara 4 and Puncak Jalil 8 in Seri Kembangan to provide assistance,” he said via Twitter tonight.

Flash floods had hit several areas in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur, based on several videos shared on social media.

Heavy rain since 3pm had affected several areas in the state at Bandar Baru Sungai Buloh, Kampung Gombak Batu Arang, Kampung Melayu Kundang and Kampung Melayu Sungai Serai, Batu Arang.
