SHAH ALAM, April 4 — Bingkisan Mesra Sdn Bhd (Bingkisan Mesra Selangor) has spent some RM150,000 to help 1,000 underprivileged households in eight locations in Selangor during the month of Ramadan.

Its chief executive officer Zahariman Ariffin said the state government subsidiary had disbursed the aid through the Tautan Mesra Ramadan programme, which had provided basic needs worth RM150 including prayer mats, telekung (women’s prayer outfit), and dates.

“We have identified 125 recipients in each location, namely in Shah Alam, Petaling, Klang, Selayang, Sepang, Semenyih and Ampang.

“The recipients in two locations at PPR Hicom and Section 24, Shah Alam, have received the items today (yesterday),” he said when contacted by SelangorKini.

Zahariman said the assistance was distributed by the chairman of Bingkisan Mesra Selangor and state executive councillor for urban wellbeing, Rodziah Ismail.

He added that the rest of the aid would be disbursed on the following Saturdays and Sundays of the fasting month.

Bingkisan Mesra Selangor is a charitable organisation under the state administration that aims to channel support to those in need in the Selangor urban areas.
