SHAH ALAM, May 24 — Yayasan Islam Darul Ehsan (Yide) has provided assistance to six families affected by the floods in Kerling sub-district, Hulu Selangor, last week.

The agency through Facebook informed that all six families have received RM500 cash assistance and basic essential items.

“The assistance was given along with the Selangor Islamic Religious Council (Mais) and several Islamic religious agencies.

“Alhamdulillah (Praise be to God), there were no casualties and all the victims were placed at Sekolah Kebangsaan Kerling (temporary relief centre),” said the agency.

Yide added that as a subsidiary of Mais, it stays committed to providing immediate assistance to victims.

Those in need can directly contact Yide at 017-7569476 if there is a disaster or calamity in their area.

On May 16, about 20 houses in Kampung Jawa Kerling were affected by flash floods following continuous rain for more than three hours from 12 noon to 5pm.
