Subang Jaya to see 170,000 new homes developed by 2035

SUBANG JAYA, June 21 — Some 170,000 new housing units are expected to be developed in the Subang Jaya City Council (MBSJ) administrative area by 2035 due to population density.

Its mayor Dato’ Johary Anuar stated that the projections based on the Subang Jaya Local Plan 2035 (RTSJ2035) required synergistic partnership and community participation.

“According to certain locations, RTSJ2035 raises the number of housing units (upe) from 60 to 120. As a result, we estimate that amount to be sufficient to meet the housing demand created by the 1.56 million population.

“By providing this platform (RTSJ) to assist the government in driving township development, we can balance the demand for land development for township development, synergistic partners, and community participation,” he said yesterday.

Meanwhile, Johary said that his party is working with developers to provide public infrastructure and facilities following the city status achieved in October 2020.

He cited a RM30 million multi-storey interchange building project in Puchong Utama as an example, which was to improve traffic continuity. The project is supported through synergistic partnerships.

“Based on the overall population, complete public amenities in various categories must be provided. The infrastructure contribution supports the development of the township,” he said.
