GE15: PM confirms this Friday, Saturday as public holiday

PUTRAJAYA, Nov 14 — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has announced November 18 and November 19 to be public holidays, for the ease of voters to fulfill their duties and cast their ballots during the ongoing 15th general election (GE15).

Berita Harian reported him as saying the decision was made in light of the fact that some private companies may be operating on Saturday.

“The GE15 voting day is approaching. Thus it is my pleasure to announce the government has set this Friday, November 18, and Saturday, November 19, as public holidays for the convenience of voters,” Ismail said.

He was speaking at the ground breaking ceremony for Wisma Cuepacs in Putrajaya earlier this evening.

Also in attendance were the Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Mohd Zuki Ali, and the Congress of Unions of Employees in the Public and Civil Services president Datuk Adnan Mat.
