SHAH ALAM, Feb 15 — Residents around SS2/13 Petaling Jaya (PJ) can now partake in recreational activities more comfortably after the facilities upgrading project at the public park in the area was completed by Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) on February 2.

Kampung Tunku assemblyman Lim Yi Wei said the upgrading works which started on September 26 was supposed to be completed on January 2 but was delayed by a month due to weather issues.

According to her, among the upgraded facilities are a basketball court, a badminton court and a 600-metre long walkway.

“In addition, the relocated playground was repainted and a new EPDM (synthetic rubber) floor was installed, while access for disabled visitors (OKU) was also provided.

“Three sets of exercise equipment were also installed and three new trash cans were placed in the park to ensure cleanliness,” she said.

Lim hopes that the upgraded facilities will encourage residents to exercise more often.

“We also thank the MBPJ for the upgrading works and urge residents to keep the environment clean so that more visitors will come and enjoy their exercise routine,” she said.
