MyHEART platform set to go live in March

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 15 — The Malaysia@Heart or MyHeart platform, which provides various efforts to facilitate Malaysians working overseas to return home to serve the country, will go live next month.

The Human Resources Ministry (KSM) said the platform covers job opportunities, information on the labour force, education for children and facilitating entry permits for spouses and children who are not Malaysian citizens.

“One of the main reasons for the development of this initiative is to provide a one-stop platform that connects with the Malaysian diaspora,” the KSM said in a written answer posted on the Parliament website today.

This was in reply to a question by Cheras MP Tan Kok Wai about the latest government strategies, incentives and achievements in attracting foreign talents to meet the development needs as well as wooing talented Malaysians to return home and serve the country.

According to KSM, based on the results of a survey conducted among the Malaysian diaspora in early 2021, 92 per cent of them were ready to contribute to the country in various capacities while 85 per cent intend to return to Malaysia in the future.

The ministry said that since 2011, TalentCorp received over 10,000 applications from the Malaysian diaspora to return home under the Returning Expert Programme (REP).

Of the total, over 6,000 experts have been approved to return under the programme.
