Take Covid-19 self-test before heading back hometown — WHO

KUALA LUMPUR, April 21 — The World Health Organisation (WHO) has advised Malaysians to take a Covid-19 self-test before heading back to their hometowns for Hari Raya Aidilfitri.

Apart from that, the organisation also advised packing hand sanitisers and masks as protection to prevent Covid-19 from spreading to the elderly.

It said this in a tweet via its @WHOMalaysia account which was also retweeted by the Health Ministry (MOH).

Yesterday, the Keeper of the Rulers’ Seal announced that Muslims in Malaysia will celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri on Saturday, April 22.

The number of Covid-19 patient admissions to MOH hospitals per 100,000 residents was reported to have increased by 26.2 per cent in the 15th epidemiological week from April 9 to 15 compared to the previous week.

In a statement recently, MOH informed that most patients are high-risk groups such as the elderly and individuals with comorbidities.
