Deputy minister makes special appearance as Mandarin newsreader on Bernama TV

KUALA LUMPUR, May 25 — Deputy Minister of Communications and Digital Teo Nie Ching today made a special appearance as a newsreader for the Mandarin news bulletin on Bernama TV.

The Mandarin news bulletin will also get a facelift in conjunction with the restructuring of operations to run seven days a week from June 1, from the current five days a week.

Teo said the Malaysian National News Agency (Bernama) generally plays an important role in reporting news and disseminating authentic information for people from all walks of life.

“My hope for the Mandarin News Desk at Bernama TV is the same for the news desks of other languages. What is important is that we bring authentic, true and fast news to the viewers and readers.

“I think this is very important because we now have various platforms of social media and too much information is being circulated out there. So how can we get accurate and true information? I think that’s the role that should be played by Bernama,” she told Bernama earlier today.

The Bernama TV Mandarin news is aired live at 6.30pm daily with a repeat at 10pm. It can be watched at Astro 502, MYTV 121, unifi TV 631, or on Bernama TV Facebook and YouTube channel.
