Moment of silence for heli tragedy victims at candidate naming event

HULU SELANGOR, April 24 — The announcement ceremony of the Unity Government’s candidates for the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election today began with a one-minute moment of silence for the 10 Royal Malaysian Navy (TLDM) personnel who perished in the helicopter tragedy in Lumut yesterday.

Nearly a thousand people from various ethnicities were seen observing the quiet time according to their respective beliefs.  

In the 9.32am incident, 10 TLDM personnel were killed when two TLDM helicopters crashed while conducting a third rehearsal for a flypast in conjunction with the TLDM Fleet Open Day, scheduled to be held this Saturday.
