MB express condolences on the passing of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister

SHAH ALAM, DEC 6: Dato’ Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali expressed his condolences to Tamil Nadu citizens on the death of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Jayalalithaa Jayaram.
“My condolences to Tamil Nadu citizens on the passing of Chief Minister Jayalalithaa yesterday,” wrote Mohamed Azmin on his Twitter account.
Jayalalithaa passed away after undergoing a surgery following a heart attack last Sunday.
As soon as news of her death spread, thousands of people started to line the streets throughout the night to catch a glimpse of the ambulance carrying her body.
Early yesterday, thousands of Jayalalithaa’s supporters mourned and cried outside the hospital compound while praying for her speedy recovery.
More than 6,000 police officers across the country have been deployed to ensure public safety after news of her death.
The Tamil Nadu Government has declared a 7-day mourning period beginning today.
Schools, colleges, offices and businesses are closed for three days with public holidays declared for the Southern Indian state.
Jayalalithaa’s body will be placed at the General Hall in Chennai for the public to pay their last respects.
