He who is also the Dato’ Menteri Besar said, the programme, a brainchild of Prime Minister, Dato’ Seri Najib Razak, is clearly a form of bribery and corruption on citizens to solicit votes.

He said that in giving his views on whether BR1M should be continued or otherwise in the event the opposition win the coming General Election (GE).
In the past, media have reported that Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) Chairman, Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has given indication that BR1M may be retained.
Commenting on that, Mohamed Azmin said the former premier’s statement to retain BR1M was conditional.
“Why didn’t the media report that Tun M had said that, if it seen as required and crucial for the citizens, hence BR1M need to be organised in a more transparent manner, through an institution and not managed by politicians.
“He had also stressed that BR1M cannot be included in any political party’s manifesto and that was very clear,” he said.
