SHAH ALAM, JAN 16:  The second New Express Way overhead bridge connecting Petaling Jaya Selatan 1 (PJS 1) and Seksyen 1 will benefit residents in Taman Medan Constituency.
The Assemblyman for that area, Haniza Talha said, she has sent further request to build the new overhead bridge to Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ).
“We have had a joint discussion with the Infrastructure Exco to build the bridge and was informed by MBPJ through its Mayor, that they have the capability to provide this facility.

“For now, we have been informed that our request has been received and being discussed, in the interest on the residents, before any development process is initiated.
“We hope to receive a positive feedback considering most of the people in the local community are from the low and middle-oncome group,” she said when contacted by SelangorKini recently.
Earlier, Haniza had said that the existing overhead-bridge is mostly used by motorcyclists, and it can no longer accommodate the traffic during peak hours.
She said, the bridge is used as an alternative route for residents to avoid the congestion on the main road in the Petaling Jaya township.
“The development of the second overhead bridge will not only save time for the road users, it will also certainly benefit Taman Medan residents in the long run,” she said.
