Sarawak CM Adenan Satem passed away

SARAWAK, 11 JAN: Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem passed away at age 72 at the Sarawak General Hospital Heart Centre in Kota Samarahan.
Adenan took over as Chief Minister from Abdul Taib Mahmud in February 2014. Adenan was born on January 27, 1944.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak conveyed his condolences over his passing.
“Innalilla… received word about TS Adenan Satem’s passing. I will be going to Sarawak for his funeral.
“His contributions to Sawarak are great. Malaysia has lost a great leader,” he posted on Twitter.
Crowned champion in a debate about Custom Land in Sarawak at the end of the 1980s and 1990s, Adenan was a great political leader in the state cabinet at that time.
He was appointed as Sarawak Special Affairs Minister in the final cabinet of the fourth Chief Minister, Abdul Taib Mahmud.
On February 28, 2014, he became the fifth Sarawak Chief Minister after Pehin Sri Tan Sri Hj Abdul Taib Mahmud tendered his resignation letter in late February 2014.
