Rebranding attracts visitors to library

SHAH ALAM, MAR 31: The rebranding of 98 Selangor Public Library’s service centres has given positive impact and encouraging response every year.
Education, Human Capital Development, Science, Technology and Innovation Exco, Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said, visitors have increase each year since 2014 to 2016.
According to him, there were 1.58 million visitors in 2014.
“However, there was a decline by 7 percent in 2015 to 1.46 million visitors due to temporary closure of four libraries for two months for upgrading works. The libraries were Desa Kuang, Desa Jenjarom, Desa Parit Mahang and Desa Parit Baru Libraries.
“In 2016, the number of visitors rebounded by 18 percent to 1.72,595 million,” he said.
He was speaking in response to oral question by Sungai Panjang Assemblyman, Budiman Mohd Zohdi.
According to him, 7,580 activities were implemented throughout 2016 through 8 major programmes which successfully attracted 1.39 participants.
