Bersatu confident of gaining Melayu Umno votes

PETALING JAYA, MAY 1: Umno-Barisan Nasional (BN) controlled media was criticized due to the misrepresentation related to the Malay’s community reception towards a meeting organized by Pakatan Harapan (Pakatan).
Leader of Parti Pribumi Bersatu (Bersatu), Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said, instead the receptions was very encouraging with the presence at the Pakatan’s meeting can reach 12,000 to 15,000 attendees.
“If we follow the presence of Malays in a meetings held by Pakatan their numbers were so big that it increased to 12,000 to 15,000, even though stated by the ‘tv tiga suku’ was only 200, but that’s because they cannot count.
“We see many Malays who came out and we find that many of them were from Umno. So it appears that Umno members were also interested in us that’s why we confident that we can win,” he said.
Mahathir said this at a press conference after the Majlis Presiden Pakatan’s meeting at the Bersatu Headquarters, Bangunan Yayasan Selangor, yesterday.
Meanwhile, in reply to a question, the President of Bersatu, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin described news that members of Bersatu quits as been broadcast by Umno’s controlled media are normal before the elections.
Obviously, in reality, the number of new Bersatu members continues to increase each day that it already reaches thousands of people.
