Selangor Sultan surveys paddy processing in the state

SEKINCHAN, MAY 22: His Royal Highness the Selangor Sultan, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah visited a Rice Factory, PLS Marketing (M) Sdn Bhd in his commitment to ensure rice produced from paddy in the state is in its best condition.
Accompanied by Tengku Permaisuri, Tengku Norashikin, Dato’ Menteri Besar, Dato Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali and his wife Datin Seri Shamshida Taharin, together with a delegation of State leaders, he also listened to a briefing on how paddy is processed in the factory.
The PLS Marketing (M) Sdn Bhd Managing Director, Lim Mau Soo conducted the briefing before taking His Majesty and his delegation for a tour to several parts of the rice processing section based on the rice standards and types.

The Sultan arrived in the district as part of his official visit to Sekinchan to approach the local community particularly in the rural areas.
For the record, Sekinchan is among the highest paddy producing area in Selangor.
It is also an area under the jurisdiction of Sabak Bernam with 14,099 hectares of paddy plantation, equivalent to 71 percent of the state’s paddy plantation.
Selangor has been the highest paddy producing state in the country, achieving 6500 kilogrammes a year, from 2011 to 2015.
