Gema Iqra’ – another Selangor first

SHAH ALAM, JUNE 12: The Nurul Al-Quran celebrations this year is more meaningful with the mass khatam and tadarus programme organised through Gema Iqra’ Selangor.
Islamic Religious Affairs, Malay Customs & Heritage, Rural & Traditional Villages Development Exco, Dato’ Dr Ahmad Yunus Hairi said the programme conducted at all mosques in Selangor will become another unique aspect for the state.
“This effort is another programme to uphold and promote the understanding of the Al-Quran for Muslim families in Selangor.
“This programme will be unique to the state,” he said when officiating the Gema Iqra’ Selangor 2017 programme at Tengku Ampuan Jemaah Mosque, Bukit Jelutong, today.
He said the State Government not only wants to inculcate the reading of the Al-Quran as a local culture, but also to bring about a deeper understanding of the holy book’s contents.
Ahmad Yunus said that reading the Al-Quran is a way to enjoy the virtues given by Allah to mankind.
Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) Director Dato’ Haris Kasim, along with 500 participants, attended the event.
The programme was led by Ustaz Zamri Zainuddin, Ustaz Dasuki Abdul Rani and Ustazah Norhafizah Musa.
