MBSA increased efforts to achieved a Low Carbon City in 2030

SHAH ALAM, JUNE 7: Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) to organize various activities involving the business community and consumers to achieved the mission of Shah Alam Towards a Low Carbon City 2030.
Shah Alam’s Mayor Datuk Ahmad Zaharin Mohd Saad said among them are the Bazar Ramadan Mampan Selangor 2017 that first held since three years ago.
“Over the past two, three years ago we took various initiatives to achieve a low carbon city by 2030 where the programme is also part of the MBSA initiative to approach food operators at Bazar Ramdhan here at this place,” he said.
Ahmad Zaharin said that at the Bazar Ramadan Mampan Negeri Selangor 2017 programme at Bazar Eamadan Bazarena Section 13, here, yesterday.
Clearly, the programme was aimed at raising public awareness to the community about the importance of reducing the use of plastic bags and encourages the use of biodegradable bags and enforcement of the ban on the use of polystyrene in Selangor.
Earlier, Exco of Tourism, Environment, Green Technology, Consumer Affairs and Freedom of Information, Elizabeth Wong has launched the programme.
In addition, Elizabeth Wong also distributes food handler equipment items such as aprons, hats and environmentally friendly food containers to food vendors at the bazaar.
