Kajang 2 multi-level interchange costs RM62 million, saves time and no toll

KAJANG, JUL 18: The multi-level interchange that connects Bandar Baru Bangi – Kajang 2 – Bandar Teknologi Kajang, which costs RM62 million, and another RM2.3 million for the construction of a bridge in Bandar Teknologi Kajang, does not merely saves time for over 50,000 residents.
Dato’ Menteri Besar, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Azmin Ali said that the project which is in fact fully sponsored by the seven developers also helps to reduce the living cost for the local people as there are no tolls charged.
“This is an alternative for the residents besides using the existing route through the tunnel under the train track, which is difficult and not suitable for heavy vehicles,” said Mohamed Azmin.
He said that during the launch of the Bandar Baru Bangi – Kajang 2 – Bandar Teknologi Kajang Multi-level Interchange, at the Kajang 2 Multi-level Interchange today.

He said, the multi-level interchange which cuts across the Kajang and Reko Commuter Stations, also connects Bandar Baru Bangi to the Kajang 2 Integrated Transportation Terminal Commuter Station which is currently under construction.
He said, this would eventually encourage the people to use public transport and reduce carbon monoxide emission, as Bandar Baru Bangi is the pilot project of Kajang Municipal Council (MPKj) to create a low-carbon city.
Mohamed Azmin also expressed gratitude to all seven developers who bear the cost and hoped that it would set an example to other developers.

Among the key developer who made the project a success is MKH Berhad.
He said, the decision to complete building infrastructures first before starting a housing project is a right move.
Earlier, the Deputy Managing Director of MKH berhad, Datuk Ben Chen said, the multi-level interchange is 4.5 kilometre long.
“Thank you to all who put their trust in MKH Berhad as the lead developer at the helm of this project,” he said.
