Ignore KPKT’s unauthorised rental collection

BY NAZLI IBRAHIM
SHAH ALAM, AUG 3: The Housing and Local Government Ministry’s (KPKT) Management Office’s collection of monthly rental from residents in Projek Perumahan Rakyat (PPR) Lembah Subang 1, Taman Putra Damai is clearly illegal.
Housing, Building Management and Urban Settlement Exco, Dato’ Iskandar Abdul Samad said that as the Petaling Jaya City Council (MBPJ) is still the flat’s legal building management.
“KPKT’s action to collect rental is unauthorised as the State Government has yet to hand over the building to KPKT.
“MBPJ is still managing PPR Lembah Subang, therefore, I urge residents to not pay rent to KPKT but continue payment to MBPJ as usual,” he said to SelangorKini.
Iskandar said, KPKT also has to pay RM60 million for cost of maintenance and repairs done by MBPJ if it intends to take over the building management.
He added that KPKT has no right to dispel any resident in the PPR.
Earlier, KPKT had allegedly opened a management office illegally to ‘manage’ the PPR.
They had also started to issue rental invoices for June 2017 to the residents and had given threatening notices to be on their side.
