MBSA expects RM133.2 million tax revenue

SHAH ALAM, AUG 15: The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) expects a total of RM133,271,090.03 assessment tax revenue to be collected for the second term of 2017, involving 246,072 property owners.
Its Corporate and Public Relations Head, Shahrin Ahmad said, property owners has the chance to pay the tax before or on August 31 to avoid any action.
He said, there are 44 payment channels provided including the Main Counter at Wisma MBSA and Branch Offices at Kota Kemuning, Sungai Buloh and Setia Alam.
“Property owners are reminded to perform their responsibilities by paying assessment tax to help MBSA manage domestic waste collection, clean areas and maintain public infrastructures such as road, road-lights, drain and build more public and recreational parks.
“It also helps MBSA to manage Shah Alam more effectively and efficiently ultimately bringing comfort, well-being and harmony to the community,” he said in a statement.
Besides the main counter, property owners can also pay their tax at all Selangor Local Authority Counters by cash only or at local agencies such Post Office for Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya areas.
It can also be paid at all Bank Simpanan Nasional, Ambank and Bank Muamalat branches by cash only, while at Agro Bank, Affin Bank, Bank Islam and EON Bank branches by cash or cheque.
Payment by cheque, postal order, credit card and charge card like Master Card, Visa, American Express and Dinners Club are also accepted.
Payment through JomPAY can be done by entering the biller code: 7567, new account number for Ref-1 and telephone number for Ref-2 followed by the amount to be paid.
To facilitate property owners, MBSA also provide review services and online tax balance payment through eps.mbsa.gov.my.
