SHAH ALAM – The ‘Safe, Heal, Empower and Strength’ (SHES) programme paves the way for women to move forward, Permatang State Assemblyman Rozana Zainal Abidin said.
The programme which is in collaboration with the Selangor Women’s Careers Council (UNISEL) and the Industrial Psychology Club under the Faculty of Education and Social Sciences was held at the Za’ba Auditorium, UNISEL Campus Bestari Jaya, recently.
Rozana said the programme was the best platform to create awareness among women as well as to provide a space for those who are dealing with discrimination and oppression.
“The sharing of inputs on this SHES programme which focuses on the topic of ‘Discourage of Women’s Youth’ has given much more insight into women’s rights, discrimination and empowerment,” said Rozana.
“My hope is that such programmes can be shared not only among women, but also men in the community,” she said in a Facebook statement.
Previously, the sharing of knowledge entitled ‘Women Youth Discourse’ presented by Dr Sharifah Syahira and the lecture on ‘The Role of Muslim Women in the Globalization Era’ was presented by Isfadiah Mohd Dasuki, both of which discussed the issue of the role and rights of women today.
Also present were Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic, Research and Industrial Network), Prof Dr Md Sidin Ahmad Ishak and lecturers and students of the Faculty of Education and Social Sciences.
