MBSA Focuses on Development for its Budget 2020


SHAH ALAM – The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) presents the 2020 Budget by focusing more on development for the well-being of the people of the state.

Themed ‘Shah Alam Sejahtera, MBSA Gemilang’, MBSA is currently on a balanced budget compared to the deficit implemented four years in 2016 to 2019.

Its mayor, Dato’ Haris Kasim said Development Expenditure next year would be RM 140.3 million, an increase of RM 21.3 million compared to Budget 2019.

“Through this allocation, a total of 51.2 per cent will be given to Development Projects such as building, upgrading buildings, infrastructure and more,” said Haris.

“Meanwhile, another 48.7 per cent is for Services and Supplies and 0.1 per cent for Fixed Giving and Payment,” he said.

Haris said among the development and infrastructure projects to be implemented includes the maintenance of lighting concessions, the development of two storeys in Kampung Baru Subang and the Subang Section U6 Town.

In addition, he said, the  Budget 2020 focuses on the project of building a six-storey market building and upgrading the flood mitigation project’s drainage system in Section 25.

“The construction of the elevated parking space in Section 17 and the bridge in University of Selangor will also be underway next year,” he said.

He said that for the MBSA 2020 Budget, it had presented a total allocation of RM 480,574,090.

“It includes RM 340,176,760 for Management Expenses and RM 140,397,330 for Development Expenses.

“Management expenditure is estimated at 70.8 per cent of total expenditure, an increase of RM 0.8 million, up 0.2 per cent from 2019,” he said.
