SHAH ALAM, 9 APRIL: The Selangor Task Force for Covid-19 (STFC) will begin coordinating the mass Covid-19 screening in the six red zones recorded in the state today.

STFC chairman and former health minister Datuk Seri Dzulkefly Ahmad, however, said the locations cannot be disclosed in order to safeguard the privacy of the residents involved in the areas.

“It is enough for us to say that we will screen those located in the red zones.

“We will contact those involved and explain to them on the need and importance of undergoing the test,” he said when contacted by SelangorKini, yesterday.

On Wednesday, Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari had revealed that the task force will begin coordinating the large-scale testing for Covid-19, which aims to get 1,000 to 1,200 individuals screened.

Six areas in Selangor are categorised as red zones, namely Hulu Selangor, Hulu Langat, Petaling, Klang, Gombak and Sepang.

The Health Ministry has classified areas with more than 40 cases as a red zone, areas with 20 to 40 cases are considered an orange zone, and those with no recorded cases are categorised as a green zone.
