SHAH ALAM, April 13 — The second phase of the Covid-19 community screening in Selangor will involve the residents in the Klang and Petaling Jaya red zone areas.
The Selangor Covid-19 operation room director Datuk Zamani Ahmad Mansor said the mass testing exercise, which is coordinated by the state government’s company Selcare, will continue on this week.
“All the workers involved have returned home this morning after the first phase in Hulu Langat was completed yesterday.
“Some of the equipment and items used will be disinfected today and aired out for 24 to 48 hours before we can reuse it again,” he told SelangorKini when contacted today.
A total of 649 individuals were screened beginning Saturday, with the joint cooperation between Selcare, the State Health Department, the Hulu Langat District Office, and the police.
On April 8, Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari had announced the Covid-19 big-scale testing operation to be carried out in the red zones in the state.
The first in the country to involve house-to-house activity, the exercise aims to screen a total of 5,000 individuals.
