Selangor records over 90 pct Covid-19 recovery rate

SHAH ALAM, April 16 — A total of 1,231 Covid-19 patients in Selangor have fully recovered from the disease out of the total 1,316 confirmed cases in the state.

This shows a 93.5 per cent recovery rate for the state, as of noon yesterday.

Selangor Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari had thanked the healthcare workers in their fight against the Covid-19 infection and had also urged the public to comply with the movement control order (MCO) as a show of appreciation to the frontliners.

“A total of 1,231 patients have recovered from Covid-19 as of noon yesterday.

“Thank you to the healthcare workers who have worked hard. Show your appreciation towards them by obeying the MCO,” he said on his official Twitter account today.

Amirudin said Malaysia has been acknowledged as one of the countries that have successfully outlined a strategic control order.

“We have to unite and work together to battle the outbreak by observing the MCO,” he added.

According to the infographic provided by the Crisis Preparedness and Response Center (CPRC) of the Selangor State Health Department, the state had registered 17 new cases yesterday

The death toll in the state is at 11.

Six districts are categorised as a red zone, namely Hulu Langat with 440 cases, Petaling (363), Klang (171), Gombak (142), Sepang (68), and Hulu Selangor (49).

A total of 12 administrative townships under five districts are classified as red zones.

Kajang, under the Hulu Langat district, has the highest number among the townships with 148 cases, followed by Hulu Langat (144), Damansara (128), Klang (121), Petaling (114), and Bukit Raja (105).

Other townships categorised as red zones are Ampang with 68 cases, Cheras (54), Hulu Kelang (50), Kapar (50), Dengkil (49), and Batu (44).

The Health Ministry has set the red zone category for areas with at least 41 Covid-19 positive cases; orange zone (20-40 cases); yellow zone (1-19 cases); and green zone (no case).
