Covid-19 cases in Indonesia exceed 28,000 with 1,698 deaths

JAKARTA, June 3 — The number of Covid-19 positive cases in Indonesia has increased to 28,233 with 1,698 deaths.

Indonesian Government spokesman on Covid-19, Achmad Yurianto, said over the past 24 hours, an additional 684 new positive cases were recorded, while 19 more died from the virus.

“A total of 13,285 patients are still under surveillance for Covid-19,” he said in his daily press conference broadcast via the official YouTube account of Indonesia’s National Agency for Disaster Management.

Jakarta province records the highest number of death, with 523 cases, followed by East Java (429 cases) and West Java (154 cases).
