KUALA LUMPUR, July 28 — The theme ‘Malaysia Prihatin’ (Malaysia Cares) chosen for the National Day celebration this year truly brings a deeper meaning to Malaysians in line with the country’s current situation in the fight against Covid-19.
The combination of the words ‘Malaysia’ and ‘Prihatin’ describes all the people in the country standing together in fighting the pandemic and the concern of the government which had implemented numerous initiatives encompassing economic, welfare and social aspects to ensure the wellbeing of the people.
This time around, the logo is made in the shape of a heart with the colourful Jalur Gemilang as its background, symbolising the concern of the Malaysian government towards the multi-racial society living in the country.
Seven red and white stripes, which formed the heart, carry the meaning of bravery and preparedness in facing all obstacles with sincerity and determination.
Meanwhile, the dark blue colour means the unity of the hearts of Malaysians of various races who live in peace and harmony.
The stigma of the hibiscus combined with the heart-shaped logo reveals that the country is heading for success, while the five red dots symbolise the five principles of Rukun Negara which are the key to unity in this country.
The crescent moon and 14-pointed star portrayed Islam as the religion of the federation and the unity of 13 states and the federal government.
This was the fifth time a heart-shaped logo was used after 1994, 1997, 2015 and 2016.
