KUCHING, Sept 25 — Fresh graduates and unemployed individuals are invited to join a fully funded Internet of Things (IoT) – Cybersecurity programme at Sarawak Skills Development Centre (Sarawak Skills), a state government technical skill development centre here.

In a statement today, Sarawak Skills said the applicants must be 21 to 35 years old and hold a diploma or bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer systems, electronics, information technology, mechatronics and software engineering.

“Registration is ongoing for the October 2020 intake of the Integrated IoT and Cybersecurity in Manufacturing Programme at the Sarawak Skills Development Centre (SSDC), Tabuan Jaya, Kuching,” the statement said.

Sarawak Skills’ executive director Hallman Sabri said the programme is fully funded by the Malaysian government where the funding covers tuition and examination fees and during the course of the two-month programme, each trainee would receive monthly living allowance.

“Classes (theory and practical sessions) will be held at the Sarawak Skills Campus in Tabuan Jaya. Upon completion of the programme and passing the examination, trainees will be equipped with the latest industry-relevant skills in IoT and cybersecurity,” he said in the statement.

Hallman said under this programme, trainees would also have the opportunity to join free exclusive online courses on the Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR 4.0), Power BI (a business intelligence platform) and Microsoft Azure (a public cloud computing platform).

“This will be a wonderful opportunity for fresh graduates and unemployed individuals to embark on this programme and thereafter pursue exciting careers in new and emerging technologies,” he added.
